ISS receives first oranje loper award
The first ever ‘Oranje Loper Award’ has been won by the Institute of Social Studies (ISS) in The Hague. This ‘Orange Carpet Award’ is for the university or institution which has the best social integration programme for its international students.
The ISS, part of the EUR, competed with twenty other institutions and was nominated for the award together with Tilburg University and Delft University of Technology. The award was received by the ISS during the annual congress of Nuffic, the Netherlands organisation for international cooperation in higher education. International students are generally quite happy with their education in the Netherlands. But there is a lot more to making their stay a pleasant experience than just education. In order to encourage universities to do more for their visiting students, the award was developed. KL
