TheStudentRanking.com<\/a> provides advantages for students and companies alike. Students can use it to assess their market value and to increase their chance of being found and hired by top companies early on. Companies, in turn, can post their job offers on TheStudentRanking.com in order to find, connect with, and hire the best-fitting candidates across borders. \u201cStudents using our site are actively thinking about their skills, their career and their next steps. Companies keen on finding highly ranked students can use our site to connect to them early on, before they graduate,\u201d explains Michael Schmitz, the founder and developer of TheStudentRanking.com. <\/p>\n

How does the ranking work?<\/strong><\/p>\n

The ranking system relies on time as a key factor of comparison. \u201cWe generally compare people with a similar age to avoid unfair advantages for people who have been around for longer,\u201d says Schmitz. There is the possibility to rank in terms of students\u2019 achievement score and social score. According to Schmitz, the achievement score is based on students\u2019 accomplishment, taking into account various factors, such as their grade point average, work experience, publications, languages and other skills. The social score considers the student\u2019s peer group. \u201cGreat students normally spend time with other great people, and the social score is based on who recommends you. If you have great, highly achieving friends, then their recommendation carries more weight,\u201d explains Schmitz. \u00a0<\/p>\n

University ranking<\/strong><\/p>\n

On top of the student ranking, the site provides a university ranking, which is created organically. \u201cIf a student signs up, then all universities he or she attended are added to the global ranking,\u201d explains Schmitz. The focus is thus on students and only if they participate will their university be ranked. <\/p>\n

Current users<\/strong><\/p>\n

Currently, TheStudentRanking.com has only a few hundred users. However, \u201cthis number has been growing quickly and we expect to be the leading student ranking by the end of the month and to cover about 5 percent to 10 percent of all students globally before the end of the year,\u201d says Schmitz.
