Last year, EUC student Eva Aarts won the BlueCity Circular Challenge, a project to turn something apparently worthless into something valuable. Now, as a co-founder of the Waterweg start-up, she is trying to bring water-permeable dredging tiles onto the market.<\/p>\n

When you say \u2018spoil\u2019, a lot of people assume you\u2019re talking about something that has gone bad. But spoil is also a dredging term: it\u2019s the muddy waste you\u2019re left with when you deepen a riverbed or basin. And since spoil isn\u2019t particularly fertile, there\u2019s not much you can do with it \u2013 even though it costs a lot of time, money and emissions to dump it off site. And this is where Waterweg comes in, with a novel solution for this (literal) quagmire.<\/p>\n\t
