Mitchell* (18) from Naaldwijk found his first week at EUR anything but enjoyable. \u201cI called my mother up and said: \u2018Why did I do this? Did I make the wrong choice again?\u2019\u201d<\/p>\n

Choosing the wrong programme yet again was not an option for him. \u201cI have to get it right this time\u201d, says Mitchell. He was referring to the International Bachelor Economics and Business Economics (IBEB), his second programme after previously studying Law at Leiden University. \u201cI stopped during the last period there. Even though I passed the courses, I didn\u2019t want to study Law anymore.\u201d During the period covering criminal law, Mitchell realised he didn\u2019t want to work as a lawyer later. While stopping with Law was a well-considered choice, it still gnaws at him. \u201cYou still feel you failed somehow. Stopping with your studies dents your self-confidence. I wanted to study law for such a long time, so the decision to not follow through on that was really difficult. I was sick about it.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\t
