Waking up with a terrible hangover, desperately reaching out for liters of water to calm your alcohol-caused dryness. Right in time for the weekend, EM gathered five quick and possibly effective tips to help you fight the nasty beast.<\/p>\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">1.\tDrink milk<\/h3><p>Drinking milk seemed to be a popular remedy among students as many mentioned it as one of their top tricks to overcome a hangover. \u201cWhenever I have a hangover I drink a glass of milk.\u201d says Alina Tserunian (25) student of International Business and Languages at Inholland University, \u201cIt always helps to get me on my feet.\u201d Rumor has it that buttermilk does the work as well.<\/p>\n<p><iframe loading=\"lazy\" class=\"giphy-embed\" src=\"\/\/giphy.com\/embed\/2xp3B3Jrfz7ji\" width=\"480\" height=\"269\" frameborder=\"0\" allowfullscreen=\"allowfullscreen\"><\/iframe><\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/giphy.com\/gifs\/drinking-hangover-hungover-2xp3B3Jrfz7ji\">via GIPHY<\/a><\/p>\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">2.\tDrink A LOT of water <\/h3><p>The most famous, but probably still the most effective tip is drinking loads of water during and after your drinking sessions. Sophie Korver (21) student of Psychology suggested \u201cDrink a lot of water before going to sleep.\u201d \u201cI heard you should also drink a glass of water for every glass of alcohol you drank, but that is not always possible, especially when you are in a club\u201d said Maarten Stehouwer (21) Business Administration student.<\/p>\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">3.\tEat some fatty and greasy food<\/h3><p>Another popular one is eating greasy food right after or the day after your hangover. \u201cWhat helps me is eating fried eggs with bacon or the likes. Other greasy food might also help.\u201d shared Donovan Plak (21) Business Administration student. Denise van Bokker (20) Psychology student agreed \u201cI always eat a Turkish pizza when I have a hungover and of course I drink a lot of water afterwards.\u201d<\/p>\n<p><iframe loading=\"lazy\" class=\"giphy-embed\" src=\"\/\/giphy.com\/embed\/y1b6CxYKXILlu\" width=\"480\" height=\"352\" frameborder=\"0\" allowfullscreen=\"allowfullscreen\"><\/iframe><\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/giphy.com\/gifs\/bacon-eggs-toast-y1b6CxYKXILlu\">via GIPHY<\/a><\/p>\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">4.\tOne word: &#039;Carbs&#039;<\/h3><p>Maarten Stehouwer (21) carried on \u201cI suggest to have a good meal before going out partying or just before a night of heavy drinking. I mean, have a nice dish of pasta or any carbohydrates really. That will definitely help.\u201d Maarten felt like sharing a drinking tip too, \u201cDo not mix different kind of drinks, or at least try to limit the amount of mixes. And stay away from tequila.\u201d<\/p>\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">5.\tMilkshakes and \u201cAAs\u201d <\/h3><p>The list couldn\u2019t have been complete without some more extravagant solutions. Donovan Plak (21) continued \u201cI drink an \u201cAA\u201d drink in the morning. I find that it really helps me.\u201d Mike Borst who is 21 and studies Business Administration added \u201cI drink a milkshake before going to bed.
