The Interstedelijk Studenten Overleg<\/em> has elected a new board. The 23-year-old master\u2019s student Allis Richardson will take up the position of chair at the end of June. She will be joined by three students from Utrecht and one from Ede.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Allis Richardson obtained her bachelor\u2019s degree in interdisciplinary social sciences at the University of Amsterdam and is now completing her master\u2019s degree in public sector management in Leiden. She succeeds Sarah Evink.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Richardson calls it positive that the new coalition wants to invest in education. \u201cNow those resources must actually be used to strengthen the quality, accessibility and future-proofing of education, so that every student can develop optimally.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Three of her fellow board members are from Utrecht: Jonas Widdershoven (bachelor\u2019s student in sociology at Utrecht University), Jochem Mecking and Floor Dekkers (both master\u2019s students in governance & policy at UU). University of applied sciences student Matthijs Fieten is the exception. He studies theology at the Christian University of Applied Sciences Ede.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

In training<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

The new board members will be trained over the coming months. On Saturday 27 June, they will officially take over from the current board: \u201cStudents can count on us to continue to commit ourselves to a social, safe and inspiring learning environment.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The Dutch National Student Union announced its new board two weeks ago. The 24-year-old Evy Kras will take over the chair at the end of June from Maaike Krom.<\/p>\n\n\n\n\t
