The Inspectorate of Education is going to investigate the Supervisory Boards in higher education. Are they, for example, doing a good enough job monitoring social safety within their institutions?<\/p>\n

At the beginning of March, the Inspectorate of Education accused<\/a> the board of Delft University of Technology of mismanagement in the area of social safety and three weeks ago, the Labour Authority criticised<\/a> the working conditions at many more universities. Discrimination, misbehaviour and sexual harassment aren\u2019t uncommon.<\/p>\n

These examples demonstrate \u201chow important monitoring is to bring malpractices to light when institutions do not succeed in safeguarding social safety\u201d, writes<\/a> outgoing Minister of Education Robbert Dijkgraaf to the House of Representatives.<\/p>\n\n\t
