Employees and students of TU Delft do not want a lawsuit against the Inspectorate of Education. After a critical inspection report on social safety at the university, they would rather see the administration invest its time and money in solutions.<\/p>\n

Last Friday, the Delft University of Technology itself published a highly critical report<\/a> by the inspectorate. The university did this to prevent people from hearing the news<\/a> from the press, a spokesperson told university newspaper Delta.<\/p>\n

In that report, the inspectorate accused the university\u2019s administrators and supervisors of doing too little to combat social insecurity within the institution. There is \u2018mismanagement\u2019, according to the inspectorate. The minister demands an improvement plan<\/a> within three months.<\/p>\n

TU Delft believes the investigation is flawed and announced a lawsuit against the inspectorate. But nearly four hundred employees and students of the university don\u2019t want this. In a petition<\/a> they call on the administration not to go to court.<\/p>\n

'Rather make a plan'<\/h2>

On the contrary, employees are glad that the inspectorate is putting the problem on the map, they say. \u201cRather use the time, effort and money for a good plan to strengthen social safety.\u201d<\/p>\n

According to the signatories, the fact that the administration wants to go to court proves that TU Delft\u2019s managers put their own interests above those of the affected employees. \u201cThe social safety of employees deserves priority. We are disappointed and dissatisfied with the board\u2019s response.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\t
