The end of your studies, you have been working towards it for years. Then there\u2019s signing your degree certificate, having your picture taken by the statue of Erasmus, clinking glasses \u2013 and what do you wear? For the graduates at the Business Law graduation ceremony, it\u2019s a piece of cake, as (nearly) all of them seem to be completing their studies for the second time \u2013 everyone seems to have two Master\u2019s degrees. However, to make it a special occasion nonetheless, EM<\/em> takes care of the decoration.<\/p>\n

A subtle pattern \u2013 nothing special<\/h2>

It\u2019s clearly not Olivier Beneder\u2019s (24) first graduation ceremony rodeo at Erasmus University. After the ceremony, he is the first to make it to the statue of Erasmus to pose for the traditional photo. The four folders in his hands, containing his four degree certificates \u2013 two Bachelor\u2019s and two Master\u2019s degrees \u2013 likewise give it away. \u201cThe Tax Law ceremony was a little while ago\u201d, Olivier says about his other Master\u2019s degree. \u201cI have several suits because of my job. I already work in corporate law, takeovers and more like that. I didn\u2019t buy anything especially for today \u2013 this is also how I go to work \u2013 but I did grab a tie. There\u2019s a subtle pattern in the blue of the suit. I wore a grey suit and a green tie for the other ceremony.\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201cGraduation ceremonies are a little more formal\u201d, says Ay\u015fe Geyik (26) about her black dress. \u201cSo I went for a classic, but festive, look, which wasn\u2019t too exuberant \u2013 it\u2019s not a wedding. I always feel good wearing blazers and heels, even when I go in to work. I think it\u2019s important to be able to be yourself in the clothes that you wear.\u201d On 2 November, Geyik will be putting on a black dress again for the ceremony of her second Master\u2019s degree (Criminal Law). \u201cSlightly longer, one-piece \u2013 and classic once again.\u201d She will have just started out as a trainee lawyer. \u201cThe interview process was very spontaneous. I\u2019m really pleased. I actually wanted to go travelling, but then they asked me if I could start as soon as 1 November.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\t
