How are we going to better manage the influx of foreign students? Some of the political parties think we maybe need to make some changes to the funding of higher education. Education Minister Robbert Dijkgraaf warns of the consequences.<\/p>\n

Overcrowded lecture halls, shortage of housing, problems with language skills\u2026 On Thursday afternoon the House of Representatives once again debated internationalisation, one of the most sensitive topics in the politics of higher education.<\/p>\n

The scepticism was tangible in the debate with Minister Dijkgraaf. \u201cThe glass-half-empty mindset that many of you have is all well and good\u201d, the Minister said. \u201cIt may even be justified. But I\u2019m a born optimist. I feel that the package of measures we have now is reasonably complete.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\t
