Action group End Fossil plans to occupy educational institutions around the world in May. They maintain their demand that universities and colleges must be fully transparent about their ties to the fossil fuel industry and want them to end all cooperation.<\/p>\n

\u201cThe fact that universities still allow companies like Shell to proudly parade around at career days in 2023 shows just how badly our actions are needed\u201d, End Fossil argues. \u201cA company that is destroying our future should have no place at a university that should be preparing us for the future.\u201d<\/p>\n

That is why, starting 2 May, students will be occupying universities and schools, the action group announced in a press release. The group said this would involve \u2018more disruptive forms of civil disobedience\u2019 than they have used during previous international protests. The Dutch branch of End Fossil has local groups in Utrecht, Rotterdam, Amsterdam, Eindhoven, Leiden, Delft and Velp.<\/p>\n

Previous targets included buildings of the University of Amsterdam<\/a>, Erasmus University Rotterdam<\/a> and TU Eindhoven<\/a>.<\/p>\n\n\t
