More and more student associations and societies are taking action against inappropriate behaviour. There are many rules of conduct and confidential counsellors but still very few training courses and little provision of information.<\/p>\n

Student associations and societies are frequently in the news because of inappropriate sexual behaviour. Examples include the<\/span> slut lists<\/span><\/a> of the <\/span>Vindicat<\/span><\/a> association at the University of Groningen, the dinner of the Amsterdam student union A.S.C.\/A.V.S.V. <\/span>at which female members are referred to as whores and sperm buckets<\/span><\/a>, and <\/span>group chats<\/span><\/a> in which male members of the Maastricht University Tragos association gave orders for female members to be fondled. And this sometimes goes further than merely words. A <\/span>survey<\/span><\/a> carried out by Amnesty International shows that 1 in 10 women are raped in their student days.<\/span><\/p>\n\n\t
