Municipalities want the government to look for a national solution for students without an energy allowance. That is because if they lodge objections with their municipality in large numbers, the procedure for granting allowances will become gridlocked.<\/p>\n

Yesterday, the House of Representatives was supposed to vote on several motions and amendments relating to the energy allowance of 800 euros for vulnerable households. Opposition parties want a higher allowance to be introduced this year and also feel that students ought to get compensation<\/a> for the rising prices of gas and electricity.<\/p>\n\n\t
