Students enrolled in study programmes in the past year will receive a 50 percent reduction in tuition fees for the upcoming academic year as compensation for coronavirus disruptions. The contracts of academic researchers will also be extended, and higher education will receive compensation for skyrocketing student numbers.<\/p>\n

The relief package just announced by Education Ministers Van Engelshoven and Slob forms part of the presentation of their National Education Programme<\/a>. This support package carries a price tag of over 8.5 billion euros. \u201cBecause\u201d, Minister Van Engelshoven said, \u201cthe pandemic has loaded extra work on nearly every school, every educational institution and every student\u2019s study.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\t
