Few actually keep them. These students tell us about their New Year\u2019s resolutions. <\/b>  <\/p>\n<h3>Julian Sonntag (22), IBCoM student (from Germany)<\/h3>\n<p>\u201cI have never made any New Year\u2019s resolutions, but this year I was planning on giving up smoking. But I already failed to follow through with it \u2013 and it is just a few days into the new year. Once you are surrounded by all your friends smoking, you just forget about your resolution. In general, New Year\u2019s resolutions just never seem to work out. I think it doesn\u2019t make sense to choose New Year\u2019s to make changes. Why not some other time of the year? I, for example, have a lot of \u2018resolutions\u2019 \u2013 such as being more active and getting a slackline \u2013 but not just because it is the new year.\u201d <\/p>\n<div class=\"typo3-img-div\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"http:\/\/www.erasmusmagazine.nl\/wp-content\/uploads\/ASSETS\/em\/julian_sonntag.jpg\" border=\"0\" title=\"\"><\/div>\n<h3>Natia Nozadze (22), Cultural Economics Student (from Georgia)<\/h3>\n<p> \u201cI used to make New Year\u2019s resolutions as a kid all the time. And I did try to follow them, but never really succeeded. So I stopped making them for a few years. I have one for this year though. My parents want me to come back home to Georgia to find a job and finally start working. So, my New Year\u2019s resolution this year is to write my thesis and finish my studies.\u00a0 Also, I want to do a lot of fun stuff while I still have the time such as going to concerts, visiting exhibitions and the like. Once I have a job, I will probably be a lot busier. So, there won\u2019t be a lot of time for these things.\u201d <\/p>\n<div class=\"typo3-img-div\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"http:\/\/www.erasmusmagazine.nl\/wp-content\/uploads\/ASSETS\/em\/Natia.jpg\" border=\"0\" title=\"\"><\/div>\n<h3>Julia Hajek (18), IBCoM Student (from Germany)<\/h3>\n<p>\u201cI like to set myself goals. This year, my New Year\u2019s resolution is to try out belly dancing. I think New Year\u2019s resolutions need to be something you really want to do, otherwise they won\u2019t work out. For me, it doesn\u2019t make sense to make a resolution, such as quitting smoking, because I wouldn\u2019t keep it anyways. But belly dancing, I think, is really something I will do because it\u2019s something new, it\u2019s active, and I have been wanting to do it for a while now.\u201d NL<\/p>\n<div
