The South of The Netherlands celebrated Carnival last weekend, and several EUR Internationals celebrated along. The festivities officially ended yesterday evening.<\/p>\n<p> IBCoM students Fleur Poiesz and Sophie van Kuppeveld, and exchange student F\u00e1bio Salmoni from Brazil, all emphasize the good atmosphere in the cities they visited. \u201cComplete strangers invite you for a drink with their friends\u201d, Fleur \u2013 from the States \u2013 says.<\/p>\n<p> Sophie and Fleur went \u2013 separately from each other \u2013 to Breda with friends from their sorority RVSV, Fleur on Monday and Sophie on Friday. F\u00e1bio went to Den Bosch on Monday. All went to bars to celebrate. The amount of Rotterdam students in Breda was noteworthy. Sophie: \u201cI\u2019ve met many people from RSC\u201d \u2013 Rotterdam fraternity <i>Rotterdamsch Studenten Corps<\/i>.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"http:\/\/www.erasmusmagazine.nl\/wp-content\/uploads\/uploads\/RTEmagicC_carnival2.jpg.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"300\" height=\"189\"><\/p>\n<p><i>Fleur (on the right) with her friends in Breda. <\/i><\/p>\n<p> <b>The Joker<\/b><\/p>\n<p> It\u2019s tradition to dress in funny clothes: Sophie as a tiger and Fleur as a cat. \u201cI didn\u2019t wear anything special, but my friend went as <i>The Joker<\/i> from the Batman movie\u201d, F\u00e1bio adds. \u201cMake sure to dress in clothes you don\u2019t care about a lot\u201d, Fleur hints. \u201cOther people might accidentally spill beer over your outfit\u201d.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p><b> Unexpected party<\/b><\/p>\n<p> The festivities during night take mostly place inside. \u201cA bit unexpected to party at a club at 5pm\u201d, F\u00e1bio laughs. \u201cI couldn\u2019t understand the lyrics of all the traditional Dutch songs, but the atmosphere was great.\u201d<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"http:\/\/www.erasmusmagazine.nl\/wp-content\/uploads\/uploads\/RTEmagicC_carnival1.jpg.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"300\" height=\"189\"><\/p>\n<p><i>F\u00e1bio (on the right) with his friends in Den Bosch.<\/i><\/p>\n<p><b>Lots of beer<\/b><\/p>\n<p> It\u2019s a good tradition to drink a lot of beer during carnival, which can be difficult with appointments during early hours the next morning. Fleur: \u201cLuckily I drank water and ate soup before\u201d. Sophie had a harder time: \u201cI had to start work 8.15 am the next day. When I got home, I fell asleep at the couch immediately.\u201d<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\"
