Too many m<\/span>edical students about whom there are serious doubts <\/span>regarding<\/span> their suitability as doctors receive their diploma<\/span>, examination committees and programme directors<\/span> say<\/span>. <\/span> They have been calling on the government since the start of this century for more options to expel these students, an investigation by EM shows. Since the beginning of this century, Erasmus MC has <\/span>sought<\/span> to have more options to expel unsuitable medical students. Since 2010, this has been possible if <\/span>a<\/span> student poses a danger to fellow students, colleagues, or patients, but this <\/span>remains<\/span> difficult to prove. Therefore, the examination boards of all medical programmes want better guidelines to protect the safety of future patients, but so far these efforts have been in vain.<\/span><\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n\n\t
