In this lecture, air commodore and professor Frans Osinga will talk about the future of war. Because with the changing geopolitical landscape, the advent of climate change, and new technological developments, the way in which war is being waged is changing. The potentialities for conflict are manifold in the future: from wars as a result of resource shortages, to full scale wars between autonomous systems. What developments are happening right now, and what can we expect?

Air Commodore Frans Osinga is professor of War Studies, as well as Head of the Military Operational Art and Science Section at the Faculty of Military Sciences of the Netherlands Defence Academy. Moreover, he holds a Special Chair in War Studies at the Institute of Security and Global Affairs of Leiden University.
