Experience Run – Up to the challenge?

Say goodbye to the old sports building with an ‘Experience Run’. For anyone who wants – and dares – an obstacle course has been set up from the old sports building, across the campus to the new building. Every sporty daredevil gets a small snack at the finish.

Fun Run

Between 11:00 AM and 1:00 PM and between 2:00 PM and 3:00 PM, anyone can register to run and climb for fun. Are you up for the challenge? Register here for the Experience Run!

Contest

Between 1:00 PM and 2:00 PM, we challenge the Erasmus Sports associations to compete for charity and honour! Whoever wins will receive a check worth €250 to spend on a charity of your choice.

Official Program

Discussion leader Bart Vriends talks between 2:00 pm and 3:00 pm with board member Ellen van Schoten, board member Antoinette Laan and top athlete Marieke Keijser about the themes of sport, well-being and health. Afterwards, the official opening ceremony will take place, after which there will be time to chat while enjoying a snack and drink and to walk through the building.

Bart Vriends

Bart Vriends is a professional football player at Sparta Rotterdam. He studied communication sciences and obtained his master’s degree in Media & Journalism at Erasmus University in 2020. Bart participated in ‘De smartest mens’ and knowledge quiz ‘The Connection’ and makes the weekly podcast ‘De Cor Potcast’.

Ellen van Schoten

Ellen van Schoten is vice-chairman of the Executive Board (CvB) of Erasmus University Rotterdam. She is responsible for the Professional Services and Operations portfolio  – Finance – Human Resources – Real Estate & Facilities –  Information Technology – Sustainability.

Antoinette Laan

Antoinette Laan has been an alderman in Schiedam since April 2021 on behalf of the VVD. Before that, she was a Member of Parliament and alderman for sports, culture and recreation in Rotterdam. Since 2015, she has been chair of the Board of Directors of the Erasmus Sport Foundation.

Marieke Keijser

Top athlete Marieke Keijser is a Dutch rower. She won gold in the light scull at the European Championships in 2018 and silver at the World Rowing Championships in 2019. In 2021 she won bronze at the Olympic Games. Marieke Keijser is currently active at A.R.S.R. Skadi. and is currently studying Health Policy Management at Erasmus University Rotterdam.
