The documentary Miss Representation shows the harmful impact of stereotypical portrayal of women in mainstream media and how this impacts their representation in leadership positions.

Studium Generale and AIESEC Rotterdam will be screening this insightful, eye-opening and thought-provoking documentary. Written and directed by Jennifer Siebel Newsom, Miss Representation exposes how mainstream media and culture contribute to the under-representation of women in leadership positions. Focusing on elements such as sexuality, beauty standards and age, the documentary highlights key figures within media, academia, governments and civil society and their endeavors within the field.  

The screening will be moderated by Dianne Bevelander from Erasmus Centre of Women and Organizations, who will provide contextual background and discussion to the documentary.
