The Rotterdam Philharmonic Gergiev Festival is a yearly festival in which the famous Russian conductor Valery Gergiev conducts his very favourite concerts.
In this concert it will be work of Debussy and Mahler.
Symphony No.6 by Mahler is a monumental work! It’s an ode to his wife Alma, and a symphony in which fate takes a hand, with a huge hammer blow! The symphony is played by the Mariinsky Orchestra – one of the world’s top 20, according to Gramophone.
