Over the past few months, did it sometimes feel like Siri, Alexa, or Google assistant were the only social contact you had? Or maybe even your only friend? This film even goes a step further when the A.I.-system called Samantha develops into the ideal girlfriend for Theodore. Not totally surprising, of course, because Samantha sounds like Scarlett Johansson. But is it distant future as seen in Bladerunner 2049 or are we closer to this than we think?
Your Siri, Alexa or Google Assistant can come along for free, but a human date might be just a little bit more fun.
About the film:
A sensitive and soulful man earns a living by writing personal letters for other people. Left heartbroken after his marriage ends, Theodore (Joaquin Phoenix) becomes fascinated with a new operating system which reportedly develops into an intuitive and unique entity. He starts the program and meets “Samantha” (Scarlett Johansson), whose bright voice reveals a sensitive, playful personality. Though “friends” initially, the relationship soon deepens into love.
