Yet, the need for fostering interdisciplinarity and transdisciplinarity remains crucial. How do we build on the critical work that has already been done, sustain the networks and relationships we’ve cultivated, and secure a lasting impact?

Since their inception in 2017, the four Erasmus Initiatives have provided vital spaces for collaboration and reflection, and now, we invite you to join us at this pivotal moment. This event brings together those committed to – or concerned about – the future of interdisciplinary and transdisciplinary efforts at EUR to help (re-)build a movement that fosters sustainable, meaningful change.

Key Themes of the Event:

  • Sustainability of Impact-Oriented Projects
With fragmented and time-limited funding, many initiatives struggle to maintain momentum. How can we ensure that our interdisciplinary collaborations and networks continue beyond their initial phases and become routinized practices within our institutions? With: Jiska Engelbert, Lieselot Bisschop, Shiwei Chen, Seline Westerhof and Jelle Burger.
  • Interdisciplinary Research
Interdisciplinary research holds great promise, but it also faces significant challenges—ranging from differences in disciplinary language to institutional and funding barriers. Together, we’ll explore how to overcome these obstacles to make interdisciplinary research a more sustainable practice. With: Eliana Bergamin, Jannes ten Berge, Conrad Heilmann, Marta Szymanowska, Isabel Awad and Adriaan Odendaal.
  • Stakeholder Engagement, Societal Impact, and Ethics
How can research, ethics, and stakeholder collaboration align to create lasting, meaningful societal change? Effective stakeholder engagement is essential, but so is ensuring that initiatives contribute to the well-being of society in ethical and equitable ways. With: Julia Wittmayer, Bastian Ravesteijn, Jan Fransen, Francisca Gromme, Justien Dingelstad and Annabel Vreeker.

Join us as we reflect, share ideas, and strategize about the future of interdisciplinarity and transdisciplinarity at EUR. Your insights are vital to moving forward and securing sustainable impact for the future.
