The IHS is celebrating its 60 year anniversary with a conference on cities and their citizens. As the world is increasingly urbanizing, more professionals are required to tackle complex urban problems. How do you measure how ‘green’ a city is, for example? But also; what are the socio-economic consequences of major urban project like Feyenoord City in Rotterdam-South?

The programme is filled with various keynote presentations, and panel and break-out sessions. The conference is divided over three themes; people, places and know-how.

With:

  • Nina Glick Schiller on the role of the ‘common citizens’ in a time of citymarketing and expats
  • Godfried Engbersen, Gideon Bolt and others on the future of diversity in multicultural cities
