EM TV newsflash: No dispensation for statistics exam, smoking ban, and more young people die by suicide
Every week an overview of the most important news about the Erasmus University. This week: A master’s student from the ESSB is denied dispensation for her statistics exams. She requested an exemption because of her dyscalculia. The examination board said no, so she appealed this to the highest educational court, which ruled against her wish.
Also, the number of young people who die by suicide has increased over the past ten years, according to 113 Suicide Prevention. And the university is not doing enough to let students know that there is a smoking ban, says The Netherlands Food and Consumer Product Safety Authority.
