According to Frank Kuiper from the University Support Centre, the roofs of several other buildings are also being monitored. “Something is loose on the Sanders building, among other things. At the Erasmus Pavilion, the metal tube of a parasol broke this morning. Another parasol is floating in the wild waters of the campus pond. A third parasol is holding up.
Scaffolding topples over

The scaffolding on K.P. van der Mandeleplein has suffered some damage. One of the pieces of scaffolding has fallen against the bridge between the Erasmus Building and Tinbergen. Some wooden boards have also been dislodged.
On Institutenlaan in particular, many cyclists were terrorised by the wind. More lightweight students had to hold on to lampposts to prevent themselves from being blown away.
